Mariposa Divers Pandan offers the whole range of PADI and SDI courses from Discover Scuba dives until Dive Master as well as specialties like Nitrox ( EaNX) and Wreck Diver. We provide you with a high level education, customized schedules and a personal and relaxed environment  to help you to get the most out of your dive course.

All our courses are held in either English, French or Tagalog.

Discover Scuba Diving:

The Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the fascination of scuba diving without being a certified diver. After a thorough briefing by one of our instructors are explained the basic principles of scuba diving and all the equipment used during your dive we will show you around our coral gardens.

Prerequisites:

able to swim 200 meters, good health, reasonably fit

Minimum Age:

12 years

Open Water Diver:

Throughout this course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. At the end of the course you will be a certified  PADI Open Water Diver, a certification that is recognized worldwide.

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional.

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.  If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.

Prerequisites:

able to swim 200 meters, good health, reasonably fit, completed student registration

Minimum Age:

15 years ( 10 years for PADI Junior Open Water Diver)

Advanced Open Water Diver:

The aim of the PADI advanced Open Water course is to develop your underwater skills and give you a taste of specialty diving activities. As you have probably already discovered in the Open Water course, diving opens the door to a wide range of activities underwater.

The advanced course consists of three 'core' dives or required dives: a navigation dive, a deep dive, a drift dive  and two 'elective' dives, which you are able to choose with the guidance of one of our instructors. Elective dives could be a search and recovery dive, a boat dive, a drift dive, a underwater naturalist dive or a wreck dive.

Prerequisites:

PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent, completed student registration

Minimum Age:

15 years

2 to 3 days

Rescue Diver:

As a rescue diver training you not only expands your knowledge of diving, increases your level   of diving skill, let's you become more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment but enables you to care for other divers and prepares you to properly respond to diving emergencies and near emergencies.

The PADI Rescue Diver program covers:

  • diving first aid

  • emergency management and equipment considerations

  • swimming and non-swimming assists

  • panicked diver response

  • underwater problems

  • missing diver procedures

  • surfacing the unconscious diver

  • in-water artificial respiration

  • egress (exits)

  • first aid procedures for pressure related accidents

  • dive accident scenarios.

 

Rescue Diver courses on Pandan Island are always conducted in small classes to enhance the learning and to make sure all students can profit the most of this interesting and demanding course.

Dive Master

As a certified PADI Divemaster you will be able to :

  • organize , conduct and supervise recreational diving activities both land and boat based

  • act as an instructional assistant to a teaching status  PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor

  • master theoretical diving knowledge to a level sufficient to become a dive instructor

The course consists of three parts ( modules):

  • Module 1: Watermanship and  Diving skills

    • 400 meter swim
    • 15- minute water thread
    • 800 meter snorkel swim
    • 100 meter inert diver tow
    • complete skill evaluation circuit

  • Module 2: Diving Knowledge

  • Module 3: Practical Application
    • gain experience in guiding divers ( together with an instructor) and with the diver-training process. During this  Module you will be encouraged to log as many dives as your course permits, since we strongly believe that  there is no substitute to  experience. You will have to have minimum 60 logged dives at the end of your course

PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent, 20 logged dives, CPR training ( not older than three years), submit approved medical exam form ( not older than one year)

SDI OpenWater Diver Course:

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course is an entry-level certification course designed to give you the necessary skills to safely conduct open water dives without supervision.

The course covers all the basic skills knowledge about dive planning,techniques,equipment, physiology and the marine environment while training students to perform important skills underwater. This course is the key to start exploring dive destinations around the globe or just in your backyard.
At the course you will be a certified SDI Open Water Diver, a certification that is recognized worldwide.
During the training you will experience an actual fun dives where you can already meet your soon to be favorite fish.

Prerequisites:

Able to swim, good heath,reasonably fit

Minimum Age:

18 yrs old or minimum 10yrs old with parent consent.
10 to 14 years old may obtain Junior open water certification,when the diver reaches 15 yrs of age, can upgrade to openwater certification

SDI Advanced Diver Development Program

The SDI Advanced Diver Development Program was created to make truly “Advanced Divers. The program requires a new OW student to take four (4) SDI specialties or equivalent, along with having a total of twenty (25) logged dives. SDI feels a diver will truly be “Advanced” after this is accomplished.
An SDI Advanced Diver Development program is a never ending journey to advance diving practice and discipline.

SDI Rescue Diver Course

The SDI Rescue Diver Course is designed to develop your knowledge and necessary skills to effectively perform diver rescues and assist, and administer necessary first aid. You will learn skills such as how to perform self rescues, buddy rescues, recognize and calm potential panic divers, administer proper first aid to divers that have experienced dive related injuries, conduct effective search patterns and manage accident scenes.
After the SDI Rescue Diver Course you can enroll in the SDI Master Scuba Diver Development Program or start in the professional ranks and sign up for the SDI Divemaster Course.

Prerequisites:

Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Advanced Diver certification or forty (40) logged Open Water dives.

SDI Dive Master Course

The SDI Divemaster Course is the first professional level certification.
You will learn how to manage divers, work the dive deck of a boat, and conducting safe and enjoyable dives.
You go deeper into diving in praxis and theory..

Dive Planning and Supervising Group dives
Dive management and control
Assisting dive trainings
Your skills will be refined to demonstration quality and your knowledge increased to that of a professional.

Prerequisites:

Be certified as Advanced Diver (advanced certification must include, Deep, Navigation, and Night& Limited visibility specialties).
Certified Rescue Diver.
Hold a current CPR and First Aid certification (i.e. a valid and current CPR1st Certification).
Have a current medical examination for diving.
Have a minimum of forty (40) logged dives.

TDI Nitrox

TDI Nitrox course is an entry level course for divers wishing to utilize into field of mixed gas diving. Featured with, multi-level diving using oxygen enriched air (EAN) as a breathing gas. Allowing longer bottom time. During this course, you will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving with EAN 22 to EAN 40 your TDI Instructor will also cover.

QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATES:
Upon successful completion of this course. Graduates may engage in diving activities utilizing nitrox mixes from 28 to 39 percent without direct supervision. Also graduates of this course will be qualified to enroll in Advanced Nitrox and further into other Technical Diver courses.
